About Us
It is the mission of the South Central Tigers to expand the minds of the young leaders of tomorrow. To have a positive impact within the lives of all individuals we encounter. We want to enhance the experience of learning and athletics, through innovative and thought provoking teaching techniques.
Our aim is to also bridge the gap between the educationally and technically empowered communities and the excluded communities of our society.
We teach our student-athletes the importance of academics, teamwork, structure and respect. They are also encouraged to have both a positive attitude and positive interactions with peers and adults, to deal with both victory and defeat, to have a sense of commitment with dedication and the value of physical activity.
We are a non-profit organization and our goal is to impact the youth between the ages of 5 to 15 that come from Parramore, Holden Heights, Callahan, Lorne Doone, Rock Lake, Westfield, Lake Sunset, Clearlake, Mercy Drive, Haralson Estates, Lake Mann Estates, Johnson Village, Washington Shores, Catalina, Lake Mann Gardens, Roosevelt Park, Richmond Heights, Lake Richmond, Richmond Estates and West Lakes neighborhoods of the City of Orlando, Florida and Orange County.
Our organization serves over 300 children and teenagers through out the school year and summer break. We are the “Baby Tigers” for Jones High School Fightin Tigers, a school with over 130 years of “Rich Tradition and Pride”. We participate in many activities that are hosted by the school and follow the football team and cheerleaders at home and away games. We also follow other sports from softball to weight lifting. The yearly Homecoming Parade and game are events we take pride in being involved with. We also offer volunteer hours to student-athletes from Jones High School and other high schools. We encourage students that leave our program to attend JHS. We are proud of and believe in our “Tiger Family”.
The South Central Tigers Football and Cheerleading organization is motivated to make a positive change within the surrounding neighborhoods, the Jones High School Community, the City of Orlando and Orange County, Florida.
